Scleral Lens Tip | Focusing On The Lens While Inserting

When inserting your scleral lens, focus on the lens instead of other object.
Some practitioners teach scleral lens application by having patients look down into a mirror placed on the counter, and this method works well for many. However, it can also be challenging since your eyes want to work together.

Closing the fellow eye in order to focus can cause the receiving eye to try and close as well. This tip works well with a vented applicator (the kind with a hole in it). If you can see your eye through the hole, you’re headed to the right spot for a successful lens application.
