Scleral Lens Tip | Additional Morning Cleaning

Doing an additional cleaning of your scleral lenses in the morning can add comfort and help condition your contact lens surface.

Depending on your daily disinfection protocol, scleral lenses may feel "cleaner" after being rinsed before application.

Multi-purpose solutions that are more viscous (thick) can leave residue behind on the lens. The risidual solution can irritate the cornea and reduce wearing time and comfort.  Giving your lenses a quick rinse with Tangible Clean before filling them with saline can help remove any leftover residue, ensuring corneal health and keeping the Hydra-PEG coating performing at its best.

If using Clear Care, your lenses are soaking in saline after the disinfection cycle (6 hours) is complete. Since saline has nothing in it to condition the lens surface, rinsing can make the lens more comfortable and the Hydra-PEG coating perform better.

A simple pre-rinse in Tangible Clean is a great way to ensure your lens is free of any residue and ready to be filled with saline.
